NYRR Virtual Valentine's Duo 5K (Feb. 11–17)

This Valentine’s Day, we know your true love is... running! Share your love with another—whether it be your beau, your friend, or a family member—by planning a date with your favorite running buddy to run the free NYRR Valentine’s Duo 5K as a team. Or if you prefer to take on this one solo, you got it.

By completing the race, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a Dunkin’ gift card—which you can keep for yourself or plan to share with the other half of your duo! Read the official sweepstakes rules.

You can race this 5K anywhere in the world February 11-17, even if you and your team member have a long-distance relationship. If you choose to run the race as a duo, you’ll have the option to tell us who your other half will be or ask us to match you with another runner. Then we’ll combine your times and create a leaderboard just for our duos! Find out more about the duo action below.

How to Register as a Duo

Run the NYRR Virtual Valentine’s Duo 5K as a pair! Run with a friend, a significant other, or someone from across the globe! If you choose to have NYRR pair you with another runner, we will randomly match you with a teammate. Learn more about how to run as a Duo below, and view our running list of Duos!

Please note: You can update your registration status through February 17. Even if you run as a Duo, we will also include you as an individual on the Strava leaderboard and in the NYRR results.

Here’s how to update your registration from solo to Duo registration status:

  • You and your partner must each register for the race as individuals in your NYRR accounts
  • You will each receive a confirmation email after you register with a link to confirm your teammate and update your registration status to Duo Registration
  • Complete the Duo registration form, including your name and NYRR email address, as well as your teammate’s name and their NYRR email address
  • You can also choose to be randomly matched with a teammate in the Duo registration form
  • Following the race end date, NYRR will share the Duo results on February 23

Teams will be included in Duo results if:

  • Emails provided are valid emails as listed in the NYRR database. (Note: If you submit an incorrect email for your partner, you can resubmit through the form in your confirmation email.)
  • There is 1:1 matching of teammates—A must choose B and B must also choose A
  • Both teammates of the Duo complete the race
